Armenia is a Christian country with the main church being the Armenian Apostolic Church. Armenia is the first country in the world that accepted Christianity as its state religion in 301 AD. Although the presence of the Armenian Apostolic Church is felt in the capital city and in the regions, the religion is observed as non-strict and open. It is allowed for women to enter the church without a veil.
